Actor Bio - Matthew Morrison

Born on a military base in California, Matthew developed a love of theater and performing from an early age when he attended a children's theater camp in Arizona. He auditioned his way into the Orange County High School of the Arts as a teenager and was the "golden boy" on campus - he was senior class president, prom king, leading man in the school musicals and an excellent soccer player. Matt then went on to study theater at the Tisch School of the Arts in New York City, but dropped out when Broadway came calling
His first role came at the age of 19 when he was cast in Footloose, followed by a revival of The Rocky Horror Show. However, his first real break came in 2002, when he was cast as Link Larkin in the musical version of Hairspray. After playing the role for several years, Matt branched into TV and film work (he appeared in Sex and the City, Ghost Whisperer, CSI: Miami and Hack on TV and also in films such as Marci X, Dan in Real Life and Music and Lyrics) before returning to Broadway in 2005 to play Fabrizio in The Light in the Piazza, for which he received a Tony nomination

Matt also appeared on TV as Sir Harry in the 2005 Disney adaptation of Once Upon a Mattress as well as the plays 10 Million Miles and A Naked Girl on the Appian Way, and before Glee came calling he was playing Lieutenant Cable in the Broadway revival of South Pacific at the Lincoln Center. He performed at the Kennedy Center Honors gala in Washington in 2009 and 2010 as part of tributes to comedy icon Mel Brooks and Broadway lyricist Jerry Herman, and was chosen one of People magazine's Sexiest Men Alive for 2009 along with Glee co-stars Cory Monteith and Mark Salling, making the list again in 2010.
On January 14, 2010, he signed a deal with Mercury Records and will be released his debut self-titled album in May 2011, which included duets with music legends Sting and Sir Elton John. Of his role in Glee, he often says that if he could write any part for himself, the part of Will would be the one

Matthew divides his time between Los Angeles and New York. His birthday is October 30
